Recent indicators have offered no single, tidy story. Housing stages moved differently. Industrial production was flat while manufacturing output declined. State labor markets varied widely.

That is normal. The economy is a collection of industries, regions, customers, and time horizons. Waiting for every signal to agree is another way to postpone a decision.

Build one operating view from four company measures: demand entering the system, cost moving through it, capacity available to serve it, and cash required to sustain it.

Choose the decision each measure can change. Demand may alter schedules. Cost may alter purchasing or price. Capacity may alter staffing or sequence. Cash may limit how quickly any of the other choices can be made.

Write the base plan, the threshold that changes it, and the first reversible action available.

Mixed signals require sharper translation, not broader hesitation.
